We welcome the opportunity to talk with you, or someone you know, about the services we offer. You may call 828-697-1354 and ask to speak with one of our shelter operations team members or visit us in person.
Normal shelter check-in hours are from 4-7pm; Enter at the side gate (facing 7th Ave). For after hours (7-8:30pm), come to the delivery door
on the opposite side of the building.
Our daily meal program offers three meals a day to anyone who is hungry. Like our emergency shelter program, it’s available every day of the week. Our drop-in day center is open Monday through Friday, along with our community-partnered Good Samaritan medical clinic. (Day center open mornings only).
In addition to emergency overnight shelter, we offer a variety of long-term housing readiness programs to help guests secure employment, save and budget resources, and then obtain housing. We are dedicated to assisting those who are ready to commit to doing what it takes to rebuild their lives and achieve self-sufficiency. These programs are available to people who reside in our primary service area, which consists of Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania Counties.
All shelter guests need to be medically stable, ambulatory, and able to care for their own bodily needs. We are not a medical assistance facility, nor a behavioral healthcare treatment facility. If our services are not a good match to someone’s needs, we are happy to assist with referrals to facilities where they can receive appropriate levels of care.
