A religious approach: How this North Carolina rescue mission aims to decrease homelessness
North Carolina’s homeless population is on the rise. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the number of unhoused individuals in the state increased by 4%, from 9,382 to 9,654, between 2022 and 2023.
This issue is multi-faceted and involves many different factors, meaning there isn’t one specific way to address it. However, the Hendersonville Rescue Mission is responding by doing everything it can to tackle homelessness in the state by providing food, medical care, addiction recovery, and services to enable individuals to find stable housing and job placement.
